31 Postcards in 31 Days

I am a big fan of snail mail. While text messages and email are extremely convenient, it lacks the excitement in personal connections. I actively send and receive "snail mail." I have pen pals all over the world, and I love checking my mail box to find letters, postcards, and extra goodies waiting for me.

This month, a friend sent me a request to join the Facebook group 31 Postcards in 31 Days. You can send to anyone you'd like, they don't have to be a part of the group. You can mail a postcard every day in October or seven every a week. There aren't any rules other than mail 31 postcards during the 31 days of October. Easy, right?

Plus, you can make your own postcards. I plan on doing a little of both. I have a handful of postcards that I collected when my family drove cross-country over a year ago. I plan on making postcards out of empty food boxes (cereal, snacks, oatmeal, etc) and I do want to visit some of the local shops in downtown Olympia and purchase a few there.

Above: A few postcards I mailing this week :)

That's such an awesome idea. I really miss the days of getting proper letters in the mail. Corresponding is just so impersonal these days.
