Book Review: Beyond Hollywood Strip by Shamron Moore

Beyond Hollywood Strip
By Shamron Moore
Publisher: Vigliano Books (July 28, 2014)
Genre: Adult Fiction

Callie Lambert is the hottest starlet in Hollywood. With a hit TV show under her belt, the tabloid-targeted actress--christened one of “The 20 Most Tantalizing Angelenos”--leads a charmed life, hobnobbing with fashionistas in Paris and industry bigwigs in Los Angeles . She's sexy, sassy, and unsinkable....and currently unemployed.

Beyond Hollywood Strip offers an inside look into the realities of being famous and beautiful, following Callie as she navigates the seedy underbelly of the entertainment industry. Juggling hunky ex-boyfriends, battling lawsuits from rival actresses, staying one step ahead of the press, organizing a charity event to honor her murdered friend…Callie’s got it all under control. But when she receives a mysterious letter from a young woman claiming to be her long-lost sister, Callie’s world begins to crack around the edges and all bets are off.

An ode to the literary popcorn of Jacqueline Susann, Beyond Hollywood Strip is a steamy, action-packed ride down Sunset Boulevard. Better buckle your seat belt…it’s going to be bumpy...

My Review

Reading Beyond Hollywood Strip is a bit like sneaking a peek into a starlet’s diary. Callie Lambert is an actress who is embarking on a new path in her career. She wants to take leading roles in classier films and she does just that with a director who is completely smitten over her.

We follow Callie through fancy parties, behind-the-scenes film sets, and interacting with Hollywood’s elite. She is fabulous and confident. A surprise pops up from an unknown sibling, which rocks Callie’s world. Throw in a large lawsuit from another actress, an ex, and a handsome new beau and you have yourself a compelling plot.

Watching the budding relationship between Callie and her half-sister, Emily was really great. I loved how welcoming Callie was and how she grew into a sister role. I appreciated how Callie’s confidence influenced other characters in a positive way. A perfect read for those of you who adore the glitz and glamour of Hollywood!
