About The Film

THE GREATER GOOD is a character-driven documentary that explores the cultural intersections where parenting meets modern medicine and individual rights collide with politics. The film offers parents, doctors and policy makers a safe space to speak openly, actively listen and learn from one another. Mixing verité footage, intimate interviews, 1950s-era government-produced movies and up-to-date TV news reporting, THE GREATER GOOD weaves together the stories of families whose lives have been forever changed by vaccination.

My Review

I have always felt as though I fall into the grey area when it comes to childhood immunizations. I vaccinate my children, so I am not anti-vaccination, but I don’t always agree with a few that their pediatrician recommends. My children have never received flu shots, and I have turned down the HPV vaccine, Gardasil, for my oldest daughter. My views regarding vaccinations have not changed since watching the documentary. The film has strengthened my belief on standing up for my children and passing on vaccinations that I don’t feel 100% about.

The Greater Good is an emotional and informative documentary about the production and regulation of vaccinations. I appreciate that the film includes interviews from people who are pro-vaccine and anti-vaccine. I feel as though The Greater Good is non-biased and does not scare you into thinking one way or another about vaccines. Instead, it pushes the audience to inform themselves as much as possible. It’s also crucial to find medical professionals you feel comfortable with and trust. Three different families from across the United States that have children injured by vaccinations are also featured in the film. The debate in the documentary is more focused on creating a safer vaccine program.

Such an eye-opening film! I can't wait to share my review and to hopefully get this out to family/friends. I'm trying to think of a good way to share this with my inlaws who don't support our non-vaccinating decision without seeming pushy!

I SO need to watch this with my husband! I'm glad that you mentioned that it's non-biased, but pushes you to be informed. That's my personal philosophy on many issues and choices out there today. It isn't so much about right or wrong, but about being informed, staying informed, and no regrets later! Thanks for sharing about this!

I am very similar to you. I am in the middle of the road. I have done some vaccinations, but not the flu or chicken pox or other ones the doctors just throw in there. I like how this documentary presents both sides.

I would love to watch this documentary. Both of my kids have been vaccinated, and now my husband an I are regretting that decision. I would love for us to be more informed on this issue.

Last year, we had caved and both of our sons received the flu shot. My 3 year old shortly after, experienced a fever-induced seizure, one of the side effects of the shot. Unfortunately, in my husband's line of work, he is required by some hospitals to have certain vaccines - which really scares me.

Thank you for the giveaway!
